BA/B.Ed, M.GestTherapy
I came to this work through my own journey. Through my own experiences with therapy, I have come to trust that both acceptance and change are possible in each of our lives.
I bring my own lived experienced of what it means to be navigating the fullness of an authentic, meaningful and humanly imperfect life.
Together with years of therapeutic experience, I also bring 15 years’ experience working with young people in education settings, as well as lived experience as a father and long-term partner. I am also an accredited surfing instructor and musician. I like to spend time surfing and playing music whenever I can.
I practise a creative, trauma informed and integrated therapeutic approach, combining relational psychotherapy with research in neuroscience, attachment theory and mindfulness.
My approach is safe, gentle, evidence-based and grounded in relationship. I believe life is better with support. I view therapy as a privilege and opportunity to be fully present with another human and strive to practise as a support rather than an expert.
In a non-pathologizing, non-judgemental way, I walk alongside people to cultivate a greater connection to self, each other and the planet.
I completed undergraduate qualifications in Education (BA/BEd) and postgraduate qualifications in Gestalt therapy (M Gest Therapy), with focused studies on transforming developmental trauma through relationships. I have further training in relationships and trauma, including The Art and Science of Love; and Trauma, Neuroscience and the Evolving Therapy of Traumatised Children and Adults.
